Yellow Crown Amazon (amazonica ochrocephala)

























Location:
The Yellow Crown Amazon's habitat runs through Peru, Brazil and in South and Central America. 

Description:
Yellow Crowned Amazons are mostly green.  They have a yellow forehead and a red speculum, they also have red at the bend of their wing.  Occasionally the yellow on their forehead will extend to included their lores. 

Size - Weight:
Yellow Crown Amazons are about 13 1/2 inches (35 cm) long from the head to tail. Weight:  450-650 grams

Social Behaviors:
Yellow Crown Amazons enjoy human interaction as well as interaction with other birds. They can have very good talking ability

Activities:
Yellow Crown Amazons like to climb and play. Provide lots of toys.

Lifespan:
Approximately 50+ years, depending on nutrition and care.
